Train strike on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July: from Trenord to Frecce, here's who stops for 24 hours. How to request a refund

Primo national train strike in the middle of summer: the grassroots unions have proclaimed an abstention that could upset the plans of thousands of travelers in the next weekend. The stop will start at 3:00 pm 21 on Saturday 6 July e It will end at 21pm on Sunday 7 July, involving numerous employees of state Railways, Trenitalia, Italo e Trenord, without guarantees of service (since the strike is on a public holiday). Cub Trasporti and Sgb have called the strike, to which is added a stoppage of maintenance staff, organized by Cobas again for 7 July.

Fs warns that industrial unrest could cause changes to the service even before the start and after the conclusion of the strike.

The president of the National Consumers Union, Massimiliano Dona, expressed concern about the abstention over the summer weekend, asking the Strike guarantor to verify compliance with the regulations regarding notice and the procedure to be followed. Dona stressed that consumers "cannot be notified of a strike at the last moment, especially in a holiday period like this, with an abstention right on the weekend." He criticizes late communication, highlighting that it is essential to inform customers as promptly as the company providing the service is informed.

Trenord and Frecce, the reasons for the train strike

The strike was called by the grassroots unions in response to "seriously deficient" conditions - he underlines Cub – in particular from the point of view of guarantees regarding security with obvious repercussions also on that of users as well as on the quality of the service in general.” In recent months, serious accidents have occurred which add to those of previous years, in a context in which workers' complaints remain unheard by both companies and politicians.

David Leoni, member of the national Cub coordination, explains: “We have an open contractual dispute on these issues. There is a contractual platform that, together with the other grassroots trade union acronyms, we are pursuing and which will see us united for the fourth strike starting from the beginning of this year. The assembly has developed common contents on which we are moving, starting from a questionnaire which in recent months has collected the opinions of workers, and which is a reference for the Pdm and Pdb national assembly, which is supported by the one established by workers in the maintenance sector against an agreement which, among other things, is about to overturn working hours".
