Open Fiber confirms certification for 2026 as well UNI / PdR 125: 2022 for the gender equality management system, consolidating a path started in 2023 and which over time has become one of the pillars of the company strategy in the field Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I).
A leader in the construction and management of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) fiber optic networks, with 17,4 million FTTH-connected homes, an infrastructure spanning over 168 kilometers across the country, and more than 4 million active customers, Open Fiber is today a strategic enabler of Italy's digital transition. The ability to support the country's digital evolution relies not only on technological and infrastructural investments, but also on the people who contribute to the company's growth every day. For this reason, Open Fiber promotes a work environment where skills, inclusion, and equal opportunities are essential levers for creating sustainable value for communities, businesses, and regions.
In this journey, gender equality is not just a principle, but is part of a broader sustainability strategy that guides corporate decisions, from employee development policies to organizational processes, and contributes to the creation of long-term value for people, communities, and territories. This journey is strengthened by joining the United Nations Global Compact, which promotes the integration of universally recognized principles regarding human rights, labor, environmental protection and corporate responsibility.
In line with this approach, Open Fiber also promotes various initiatives and programs dedicated to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, investing in training and awareness-raising activities aimed at spreading an increasingly inclusive, aware, and respectful culture of diversity.
Flexible working hours, smart working, parental leave and extra leave, free psychological support, health and wellbeing programs, and professional retraining projects for prisoners are just some of the initiatives Open Fiber has adopted, in keeping with its corporate values.
These are accompanied by further welfare measures and support for parenting, including the New Mothers Bonus, designed to support the return to work after maternity leave and promote sustainable work-life integration. Open Fiber's participation in the "Let's Grow the Future" Foundation, of which he is a founding member, a project promoted by some of the leading Italian companies to support the birth rate in Italy and the reconciliation of work and private life through the development of services dedicated to children.
"This recognition confirms the value of the path we have chosen to undertake and that, every day, we continue to build together with responsibility and commitment. At Open Fiber, we create connections, bringing innovation, technology, and new opportunities where they are needed. It is with this same vision that we put people at the center, because we believe that the most important connections are those founded on respect, inclusion, and the valorization of every talent. From this belief, concrete actions dedicated to professional growth, personal well-being, parenting support, and the enhancement of every skill are born. I firmly believe that a company capable of caring for its people is also a company capable of innovating, growing, and generating value for the local area and the entire community," he stated.
