The agreements between Invitalia and FiberCop have been signed which regulate the implementation of the interventions foreseen by the National Connectivity Fund (FNC), aimed at accelerate the spread of ultra-fast networks across the countryInvitalia manages the Fund, financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, as the Implementing Partner.
The institutional meeting marking the launch of the project took place at the headquarters of the Department for Digital Transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in the presence of Undersecretary of State for Technological Innovation Alessio Butti, of the Head of Department Angelo Borrelli, of the President and CEO of FiberCop Massimo Sarmi and of the Head of Public Investments of Invitalia Giovanni Portaluri.
The tender, promoted by the Department for Digital Transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and managed by Invitalia SpA, was awarded to FiberCop in June 2026 and It will allow coverage of over 477 thousand houses distributed throughout the territory national project with completion expected by the deadline set for June 2030, contributing to the achievement of the country's digitalisation objectives and overcoming the digital divide.

The networks will have to ensure Connection speed of at least 1 Gbit/s download and 200 Mbit/s upload even during peak traffic hours.
