Elon Musk enters American politics with force. When his role as First Buddy now seems a distant memory considering the public clashes with Donald Trump, the billionaire announces – strong in the results of the survey launched online – the birth of a third party, the America Party.

“At a ratio of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you will have it. When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste and corruption, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party was born to give you back your freedom,” Musk said on X. On Independence Day, the Tesla boss launched an online poll asking Americans if they wanted “independence” from a two-party system. 65 percent said yes, 35 percent said no.
Elon Musk Launches Third US Party
The billionaire's breakthrough comes after the approval in Congress of the “Big beautiful bill”, the budget strongly desired by Trump and equally strongly criticized by Musk. By signing the measure at the White House, the president praised it: it is capable of launching the golden age, he said with satisfaction, surrounded by Republicans in Congress at the White House. The billionaire has long criticized him, however, and has never hidden his opposition to a measure that he believes could bankrupt the United States, going so far as to threaten all those in Congress who voted in favor. “You will lose the election, even if it is the last thing I do,” he assured.
Elon Musk: Why America Party Was Born
Trump has flatly rejected the criticism: “Musk is angry about the subsidies for electric cars,” he has repeated several times, going as far as to threaten to deport him. Relations between the two have been tense for some time, ever since Musk left the White House, officially shattering a liaison lasted almost a year: an agreement that contributed, with millions of dollars, to Trump's arrival in the White House. In June, at the height of tensions, Musk had already hinted that the possibility of founding a new party that truly had the interests of Americans at heart was in the air. However, his anger mounted over the weeks with the green light from the Senate and the House to that 940 page budget which contains all of the president's campaign promises, from tax cuts to new funds to fight immigration.
Elon Musk: Who America Wants to Attract Party
The first frictions between Trump and Musk arose over the measure. Then it was a crescendo that led to the final provocation: the birth of a new party that, in the billionaire's dreams, is able to attract those frustrated Republicans and Democrats and looking for something new to protect them.
