There is a winter cyclone in the Befana stocking. After weeks of anomalous heat, with spring temperatures, an epochal change is looming on the horizon within the next 48 hours. A new disturbance, accompanied by a low pressure vortex, will bring a wave of bad weather in our country, starting from the North, with intense rains and widespread thunderstorms which will slowly extend to the Center and South. All of this will be accompanied by cold, frost and INFO on the Alps and Apennines but also from winds very strong. But it doesn't end here. Starting next week, cold currents from the Arctic will lead to a collapse in the mercury column: the real winter will come into full swing from Monday 8 January. But let's see what the future has in store for us Befana weekend from the postural weather.
Befana weekend weather: what will the weather be like?
Intense rainfall affects the North-East, the central regions, Sardinia and Sicily. In the afternoon of Saturday January 6, the bad weather will reach the rest of the South, with a risk of thunderstorms, while the weather will improve in the central regions and the North-West. Abundant snow in the central-eastern Alps and possible snowfall on the peaks of the central and southern Apennines. Temperatures will drop further and very strong winds will contribute to increasing the perception of cold, especially in the North. Sunday January 7, the bad weather will persist with rain and thunderstorms across much of the Centre-South, while in the North-West there will still be snowfall in the Alps. Temperatures will drop further, especially in the Centre-South.
This winter phase could continue until Wednesday-Thursday of next week, with the central-southern regions more exposed to unstable phenomena and possible snowfall even at low altitudes, especially between the Marche, Abruzzo and Molise. Northern Italy will be less involved but characterized by a rather cold climate. In short, winter is finally about to knock on Italy's door.
