Triptych, photography and poetry merge in Alassio

Friday 9 July in Alassio, at the Artender gallery of Alessandro Scarpati, the Ligurian artist Silvia Celeste Calcagno will be the protagonist of a personal exhibition TRITTICO (high bioavailability) curated by Francesca Bogliolo. Matter, photography, video and poetry merge, inviting us to reflect on the return of a lost or in part always absent lucidity. Color grabs the material, upsets it, lets it emerge by feeding on the saturation of the pigment; an osmotic process resulting from the artist's latest technical-conceptual experimentation. Who intervenes to modify the experience of the mind which leads to the alteration of the surrounding reality? Is nonsense the only possible sense? Can a drug calm the blurring of a confusing world?

Madness is perhaps the only way. In the video CRABBED (2021) a dog pursues animals similar to atoms, which rotate incessantly in a void filled with bodies with acid tones, which dance strongly with a single creed: "the body". The artist reflects, accompanied by her obsession with the poetry of Sylvia Plath, paying homage in part, in a way as silent as it is brazen. The viewer is literally immersed in a bubble, the only reference to which to cling could be the voice of a man who recites a mantra my father's dressing gown (2021) linked to an intimate experience of the artist who becomes universal. The voice is that of the writer Henry Neuteboom (write-now.eu).

A subtle work, a dense plot of details gives rise to new and site specific works. Silvia Celeste Calcagno changes her skin, changes her way of working, changes the balance, prunes the cleanliness of the image through synthesis. An outing, hypnotic exhibition, an intense and ferocious meditation on itself and on society, at times attributable to a new pop. An exhibition without masks, without bans. A free exhibition.
