The Constitutional Court strikes down the protectionism that regulates taxis and opens up to NCCs: finally

We needed a reformist and innovative President like Augusto Barbera to push the Constitutional Court to strike at the unsustainable protectionism that surrounds the world of taxis and open the doors further to NCC. What i Governments and the local administrations have not so far had the courage to selfishly defend their electoral interests, the Consulta has deservedly done so. With a double sentence he said yes to new licenses for rental car with driver, which the Conte government 1 (Five Stars+League) had blocked in 2018 so as not to offend the susceptibilities and corporate interests of taxi drivers to the detriment of consumers and also allowed NCCs to use apps for service bookings. They seem like banal sentences but they are the exact opposite because they meet users' expectations and vigorously shake the inaction of the political class which, with rare exceptions, has always uncritically supported the protectionist closures of taxi drivers. One might say: there is a judge on the Hill, in the beautiful building of the Constitutional Court which, coincidentally, is right opposite the Quirinale. Barbera has only recently become the President of the Council but his weight is felt.
