Here we are: Friday 1st September officially began2023 school year / 2024 for teachers, ATA staff and all other professionals. Students from all over Italy, however, will be able to enjoy a few more days of vacation before the much-hated return behind the desks. “Today the school year officially begins. It will be a year of important news. My best wishes and strong thanks go first and foremost to the school staff whose role is fundamental for the future of our young people. A special thought for the students who build the foundations of their lives in school. And finally the hope that the culture of respect, commitment and solidarity will be established in the classrooms, for a school that is a beacon and engine of the development of society", he wrote on Twitter last Friday the Minister of Education, Giuseppe Valditara.
School: when does the school year start? Here is the calendar region by region
