Dividends 2019, rain of billions on May 20th: here is Dividend day

Here is the long awaited Dividend day. On May 20, 69 listed companies will detach their dividend. It will be the key day, in which a wave of coupons (and of billions) will pour over the shareholders, distracting them at least in part from the concerns regarding the stock market trend of the last few sessions, when the fear on the US-China tariffs and some imprudent statements by the Government Italian have rekindled the volatility on the lists.

Only on the Ftse Mib, 21 out of 40 companies will pay out their dividend. The repercussions on the performance of the main index of the Milan Stock Exchange have already been announced. According to analysts, the impact will be around 530 points, equal in percentage to 2,5% of the value of the Ftse Mib. As for the other indices, the following will be distributed:

  • mid cap: 20 companies,
  • Star: 10 companies,
  • Standard: 10 companies,
  • Aim Italy: 9 companies.

We also remind you that this year, according to the calculations of the Websim research office, the Intermonte broker site that offers consultancy services aimed at retail investors, companies listed on Piazza Affari will distribute 26 billion coupons (3 billion more than in 2018), most of which on Monday 20 May, the day on which they will enter the scene giants of the caliber of Intesa Sanpaolo, Eni, Generali and Leonardo.

DIVIDENDS 2019: THE 21 FTSE MIB COUPONS

Two special mentions: the first goes to Azimuth, which has also been confirmed this year queen of dividends with a coupon of 1,5 euros per share. The second against Fiat Chrysler, which after distributing its ordinary dividend of 0,65 euro per share last April 23 is preparing to be the absolute protagonist of this dividend day by disbursing an extraordinary maxi-coupon equal to 1,3 euro per share, 2 billion euros in total. By adding the extraordinary dividend - deriving from the completion of the sale of Magneti Marelli - and the ordinary dividend, FCA will distribute 2019 billion coupons in 3.

Not to be underestimated either Intesa Sanpaolo, which in 2019 will guarantee its shareholders a return of approximately 9%, confirming the generous remuneration policy launched in 2018.
