La Before Alta Langa 2024 will be held Monday March 18 al Teatro Regio of Turin. The event, now in its sixth edition, will host over sixty producers from the area, presenting more than 150 labels of Alta Langa wines. The event, aimed at buyers, wine sellers, restaurateurs, sommeliers, distributors, barmen and journalists, requires registration on the place of the Alta Langa Consortium to participate.
An opportunity to taste a very wide selection of Piedmontese sparkling wines
The Teatro Regio in Turin, one of the largest in Europe, provides the setting for the event, which in the past has taken place in several prestigious locations. The president of the Alta Langa Consortium, Mariacristina Castelletta, underlined the constant increase of the event over the years, going from 18 producers in the first edition in 2018 to 60 companies in the recent edition in Venaria in May 2023. “The Prima dell'Alta Langa confirms itself as the opportunity to taste a 'very large selection of Alte Bubbly Piedmontese, meet the producers and come into full contact with the spirit of a denomination in clear development, in Italy and beyond", he concluded.
Tastings, but also masterclasses to explore the aging potential of bubbles
The event is not limited to tasting, but also includes two limited-number masterclasses upon reservation to delve deeper into the aging potential of High Piedmontese Bubbles. The event's partners include the Teatro Regio of Turin, the Consortium for the protection of Roccaverano Dop cheese, the Consortium for the protection and promotion of Cuneo raw meat, Acqua S. Bernardo, Panificio Abrile and AIS Piemonte.
The Alta Langa Consortium
The Alta Langa Consortium, founded in 2001, involves more than 70 sparkling wine producers and 90 associated winemakers. The Alta Langa Docg denomination, produced in a hilly area that embraces the provinces of Asti, Cuneo e Alexandria, boasts a production of 3.200.000 bottles from the 2023 harvest. The Consortium has always been very active: winemakers and producers are involved in the development of a wine, a denomination and a territory. All linked by a great bet: that of a wine that will not be ready before six years from the planting of the vineyards.
The Consortium boasts long-standing partnerships with the International Alba White Truffle Fair, of which Alta Langa Docg is Official Sparkling Wine, and with the world Slow Food in particular with the Wine Bank and the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo; the Consortium is also a technical partner of the Teatro Regio of Turin.
