Intesa San Paolo, through its subsidiary Setefi, specialized in the management of electronic payments, has announced the agreement with the Chinese service provider of Alipay online payment. The goal is to allow Italian brands that export to China and South-East Asia to accept payments also through this online system.
What is Alipay?
alipay.com is a subsidiary of the hi-tech giant Alibaba and in China it is the main platform dedicated to online payment services. With the agreement with what could be defined as the 'Chinese Paypal', Setefi will be able to allow Italian companies operating in the Far East to ensure online payment on the e-commerce sites of the Alibaba group and on those of third parties in China.
