Unicredit inaugurates branches in Capri and Maiori on 8 and 9 July 2025. The new openings are part of a strategic plan that aims to relaunch the territorial roots and banking proximity in places with a high economic, tourist and cultural vocation, with particular attention to areas that show an expanding entrepreneurial dynamic and a growing demand for specialized consultancy.
"According to the latest update from the Bank of Italy (March 2025), over 4 bank branches have been closed in Italy over the last five years, with a 17% reduction in the overall physical network. In particular, the South has lost around 22% of its branches, with peaks of 30% in some internal and coastal areas. Since 2021, Unicredit has restructured 87% of its branches in Italy, with the aim of reaching 100% by 2026 and with a total investment of over 200 million euros", explains the bank in a note, underlining that, in the face of this contraction, "Unicredit confirms its active presence with a network of over 200 facilities in Southern Italy (excluding Sicily)”.
The new Unicredit branches
The Capri branch, in via Roma n 77, located a few steps from the Piazzetta, will be active all year round and will offer personalized banking services to citizens, professionals, tourism and trade operators. It will also be a reference point for consulting for entrepreneurs who intend to innovate or internationalize. The Maiori branch (in via Nuova Chiunzi n 126) is instead located in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, it will be aimed in particular at SMEs, quality agricultural and craft companies and accommodation facilities, with digital tools and targeted credit to support the energy and environmental transition.
Both locations are designed according to the new Unicredit branch model, highly digitalized, with dedicated relationship managers, extended opening hours and extended accessibility even during high season.
"Unicredit continues to invest responsibly in the territory, especially in Southern Italy, one of the growth engines of our country. With the branches in Capri and Maiori we are strengthening our proximity to the territories with high economic and cultural potential. We want to be present, physically and strategically, where companies invest, where communities ask for advice and where innovation meets tradition. Opening new branches is a choice that confirms our proximity to the customer and the communities in which we operate. Our goal is to continue to serve customers in the best possible way and we do so by investing both in infrastructure and in the people dedicated to them. In the two-year period 2024-2025, we have also planned over 2200 new hires in Italy", he says Remo Taricani, Deputy Head of Italy at Unicredit.
