Enel tops the list of listed companies in the Ministry of Economy and Finance: Flavio Cattaneo's Group holds 8,7% of the Italian stock exchange.

The company led by Flavio Cattaneo reached a market value of 101,6 billion euros at the beginning of July, corresponding to 8,77% of the entire capitalization of the Italian stock market.

A Business Square le investments of the Ministry of Economy and Finance are increasingly important. Large state-controlled groups have in fact expanded their presence on the Italian stock exchange, reaching the point of representing more than a third of the total value of the stock market.

According to the data reworked by CoMar within the Financial Observatory, as of 1 July 2026 the fifteen listed companies attributable to the Ministry of Economy and Finance have reached a total capitalization of 394,8 billion of euros, equal to 34,1% of the entire Italian Stock Exchange list.

A significant leap compared to the beginning of the year: the overall value of the subsidiaries increased by 84,4 billion euros (+28,5%), while the share of value attributable to the State rose to 133,4 billion euros.

Enel among the most influential companies on the Milan Stock Exchange

The one that has the greatest impact on the overall value of public subsidiaries is Enel, which confirms itself among the companies with the greatest capitalization at Piazza Affari. The energy group led by Flavio Cattaneo reached a capitalization of 101,6 billion euros at the beginning of July, equal to 8,77% of the entire price list Italian.

Enel's strengthening capitalization significantly contributes to the growth in the overall value of listed Italian companies, highlighting the importance of these companies in the national production system. Beyond its financial dimension, the Group represents an industrial engine capable of generating positive impacts on businesses, suppliers, employment, and skills, fueling a broad economic ecosystem.

Among publicly traded companies, Enel remains one of the main benchmarks on the Milan Stock Exchange, especially given its investments in the energy sector and the ongoing transition.
